The 140 ft. long and 127 feet tall gaff schooner, completed in 2006, is the tallest ship in South Carolina. It can accommodate 30 souls including nine crew members who at sunrise, when I came along, were still in their bunks. The soft, golden hues of the sunrise created the perfect backdrop to highlight the intricate details of the sailboat's rigging and sails.
